I use Amethyst most of the time, and i think i've settled on not using nwc for zaps. So each time i zap, a list of installed wallets pops up on my android phone, letting me pick which wallet to use. I know its not as convenient as using nwc, but i find that sometimes one wallet has a glitch, so i can just pick a different one. I've gotten used to the couple extra clicks for each zap, but i like that i have more control each time i zap. I used to prefer using nwc, but i just find that some wallets dont talk well with certain other wallets, on certain days. Just my thoughts. #nwc #wallets

Same here. No NWC.
I keep removing my nwc configuration for the same reason. It would be nice if Amethyst (and other Nostr clients) could support multiple nwc connections at once and maybe even fallback from one wallet to another. It's been a while since I tagged nostr:nprofile1qqsyvrp9u6p0mfur9dfdru3d853tx9mdjuhkphxuxgfwmryja7zsvhqpzamhxue69uhhv6t5daezumn0wd68yvfwvdhk6tcpz9mhxue69uhkummnw3ezuamfdejj7qgwwaehxw309ahx7uewd3hkctcscpyug on a random request.
I like giving zaps more friction because I dislike accidental zaps.
I get it. NWC also makes me a bit uneasy. Still... it's bloody convenient, especially in split zap-like scenarios (e.g., it's ironically painful to zap Amethyst devs from Amethyst itself without NWC).
I wish NWC enabled wallets made it easier to use my own relay for NIP-47 events. I was experimenting with adding a personal payment relay to Haven (based on nostr:nprofile1qqsw9n8heusyq0el9f99tveg7r0rhcu9tznatuekxt764m78ymqu36cpr3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujucnfw33k76twwpshy6ewvdhk6tcpzdmhxue69uhhwmm59e6hg7r09ehkuef0qy2hwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtn4w3ux7tn0dejj7ne6u4e’s payment relay), but it’s a bit pointless unless you're running your own NWC-enabled payment infrastructure. I mean, I can easily forward events to other relays, but the whole thing is pointless if the wallet doesn’t generate a proper nostr+walletconnect:// URL with the relay address in mind, write a Kind 13194 to it, read 23194 requests from it, write 23195 responses back to it, send notifications to it, etc. The whole setup couples the wallet and relay pretty tightly.
In theory, this could be configurable though. The wallet could take one or more relay addresses.

It would be awesome for those running personal relays.
It is convinient. I use it for recurring payments, just not zaps anymore.
