Interesting thought. I’ve noticed this too nostr:note1yfmtvzkhasy7xe27mme8ucm84vmfj690de8sk7msa5w33xfnnuasx3ety4
Discussion
it is a feature, not a bug
there used to be thousands and thousands of IRC chatrooms, now almost none, where did most of them go? reddit, i guess, a lot of them, but the culture there is toxic, and facebook, xitter, threads, bluesky, slack, etc
the whole point of nostr, as i grasped it very early on was this:
affinity groups
paid relays
organisational chats and forums and other process/logistical comms
i literally now only use two relays, my own self hosted one, which all of my follows are free to use (and their follows) and nostr:nprofile1qydhwumn8ghj7argv4nx7un9wd6zumn0wd68yvfwvdhk6tcpr3mhxue69uhhg6r9vd5hgctyv4kzumn0wd68yvfwvdhk6tcpzemhxue69uhk6mr9dd6juun9v9k8jtnvdakz7qpql5sga6xg72phsz5422ykujprejwud075ggrr3z2hwyrfgr7eylqsc0mm8q 's The Forest relay
why? because it eliminates the amount of moneros and bullshit scammy rockstar dev ingroup bullshit i see
the core purpose of nostr is about letting us pick and choose where and with who we want to communicate, it's not supposed to be an uncensored twitter
I wish there was a way to aggregate my follows to the relevant relays that they’re all mostly on so i could quickly know which relays to quit without losing contact.
