in case the information is helpful:

damus climbed to over 16 GB and kept going higher as i was moving my photos/videos out and deleting other apps. damus would’ve kept using more storage but there was literally no more space on my phone.

(this is all how i discovered the problem w damus because my phone was not liking the memory issue.)
