Both, and that’s true to an extent, but there is a cyclical nature to government.

Nothing gets worse forever, eventually things collapse and new institutions are created.

Anarchism is a bold idea which could work for a very small minority of people. Most people need leadership, laws, and everything else which comes with government. And even for the people it works for, anarchism isn’t enough to solve a lot of common political problems.

laws don't have to come from government, and most good laws that we still use didn't come from it, but most bad laws did

leadership don't come from government and never came, except for corrupt pedophile leaders if you want that

I'm sorry, but you're arguing from your own unexamined first thoughts about the topic and ignoring hundreds of years of discussions on the topic, so it's hard

Lol

I’ve thought about this topic enough to have a discussion thanks. I went through my libertarian phase too and read all the same books I’m sure you did.

So we will have leaders, who enforce laws, and will solve the tragedy of the commons by orchestrating social programs, but it won’t be called “government” because that’s a yucky word?

And it will be all voluntary and opt-in? Can it enforce borders? Levy taxes? Regulate the environment? Create social order?

I don't believe you have read the literature on market anarchism and private law, otherwise you wouldn't be making these idiotic statements

maybe you read mises and rothbard in your "libertarian phase", but you didn't get the parts that explain, with examples from other societies, history of roman and common law, and overall speculations based on incentive analysis how things could play out in our world, and how everything can work in a decentralized way because that's pretty much how it works already (the centralized parts fundamentally do not work and only exist to hamper the anarchist parts and prevent those from working better)

anyway, I'm not here to argue from authority, I was merely stating that I don't have time to explain everything to you unfortunately

so please go back to your ritualistic adoration of your pedophile "leaders"

I don’t adore any leaders. But I recognize the need for government and advocate for a better one. Good luck with your weird fantasies! How does anarchism deal with a multicultural society?

a better government is a much bigger fantasy, it will never happen, you're wasting your time

you would be better if you recognized there is no need for government, society itself can arrange itself much better

I don't know how anarchism deals with multicultural society, but it will be based on private ptopery and I can imagine some outcomes. either way will be better than how real world governments (not your idealized fantasy government) have been dealing with it

although of course it can be very easily argued that the multicultural society you hate would never in a million years happen under anarchism, it requires explicit support from governments in many ways

when did a government ever got better?

Uh, America?

uh, when? afaik since the foundation of america it only got worse

America was a huge improvement over the previous governments of North America

The improvement was precisely because the government was limited. In other words, we moved closer to anarchism.

Limited compared to the previous governments?

Good government is about positive forms of social order. Good outcomes. You could have a massive government but if it produces positive social order, it’s good. And the inverse is also true, as we saw.
