Idk if the use of these is fleshed out in the books but they are similar to nodes in Bitcoin and now relays in nostr.

It's a beautiful visualisation of participation in a network and making physical objects out of the usually invisible electronic components. Could be explored further as Bitcoin art and the self sovereignty ethos.
