the real reason why so many big corporations got into DEI was because it allowed them to hire a lot more low paid staff while puffing their figures on their annual reports, and made nice statistics for the government, whose woke agent provocateurs were busy evangelizing to their biggest donors

they weren't thinking about the effects in 5 years time when the skill base and competency of their staff falls below a safe level, nor were they thinking about the issues of hiring people for color or gender when the job requires skills that are critical to safety

never mind the fact that in 10-15 years we are going to see a "global killer" superflare or micronova, long before that, i'd say in 5 years time, everyone is going to stop buying things at shops and start home workshops and simplify and minimize their dependency on technology

it's getting that out of hand
