In 1980, just after the presidential election, #Reagan gathered his future cabinet secretaries for dinner, during which the participants talked about how to implement detente. Bill Casey, soon to become #CIA director, at dessert disagreed with the premise of the conversation. “No, we must defeat the #SovietUnion,” he said. “They are evil and do bad things around the world.” Reagan let others talk but then pointed his spoon to Casey and said, “I’ll have what he is having.”
