waves is a smart contract blockchain which was supposed to be "an ethereum killer". the similarity to wbtc on ethereum or btcb on bnb chain? they are custodian. they recently rugged their blockchain user. those who held waves-btc cannot redeem the actual btc anymore.

tldr: never trust custodian solution, especially if it is a custodian blockchain
