We used to catch the catfish on jugs we left out on the lake overnight. We would tie 3 feet of string and giant hook to 7up bottles.

For bait we used fish we caught with bread and cut them up. When we couldn’t catch enough fish, sometimes we would just use chewed up bazooka bubble gum.

In the morning we chased the bottles all around the lake and pull them on the boat.

Then we’d hit them on the head with a hammer and skin them or filet them depending on the size.
