The issue here is the person making the claim has built quite a lot on lightning ⚡ so there is some merits to his position.
Lightning kinda works but the tradeoffs it makes are worrying. It is becoming centralized . The op is sounding the alarm.

I understand. Lightning isn’t as easy as running a node (yet). But it does work & although he’s right in sounding the alarm … if you’re gonna absolutely trash something … at least come with a proposal, a solution or an alternative …
