A bitcoin based side chain would use bitcoin and offer different features. It would be up to the proposer of the side chain to say what features it has. But it will largely run using bitcoin.

In other words it would just add bloat and expense to the value of our #Bitcoin. Which would decrease the value of our Bitcoin. Because any profits derived by a third party would come out of the value of our Bitcoin. Non-starter..⚖️👮‍♂️

Not quite. It just would be more services you can buy with bitcoin.
