I think you have it right. Also, after FTX, Binance, Mt. Gox and several other smaller exchange scams, there’s an inherent distrust in them. Personally, I’m in the middle. I am a Coinbase customer, only know what I read, and I’m only interested in Bitcoin, which I purchase at Coinbase then move elsewhere.
