nostr:npub1s5yq6wadwrxde4lhfs56gn64hwzuhnfa6r9mj476r5s4hkunzgzqrs6q7z I went to an investor presentation lunch for Fischer Investments with my grandpa today (he has about half his money with them) and I could not believe how much they bashed bitcoin.
They claimed bitcoin was one of the most speculative investments on the planet and that no one should put their hard earned money into it. They cited that it had more +/- 5% days than most other investments making it too volatile for any reasonable person and I was really holding my tongue because I wanted to bring up that stat you talk about where you can pick any 4-year period and if you would have put 2-4% (can’t remember the exact percentage) into bitcoin and the rest into cash you would out perform the sp500 with a better sharpe ratio.
I’m very non confrontational so I didn’t speak up and figured they probably wouldn’t believe my statement but I’m thinking of sending them a follow up email.
It’s laughable the way these investment firms present to elderly people stating that you just need to keep most of your money in the “Big 7” stocks and you will do fine over time. Literally telling people there is no reason to have an investment manager, might as well bye an index, but still throwing up all this nonsense on why people need to be with them.
