I originally wrote it on my trustjesus.substack.com. I then posted it into highlighter.com.

It is weird though, when I post formatted text into highlighter, it posts an unformatted copy of the text followed by the formatted copy, so I then have to delete the unformatted text. I used to use habla.news, but would have to reformat the whole article, so I switched to highlighter despite the weird double copy bug. Both allow some decent formatting inside the app, but since I started on substack, I compose there, schedule there, and then just copy to share on nostr.

Thank you! Formatting has been my biggest frustration with posting long form content so I shy away from it. Yours looks great! This is really helpful.

Sounds like Substack is using some dodgy formatting. I copy-paste normal markdown in to the raw field, without problem.

It either changed in substack or it changed in highlighter because it didn't used to happen. It has been happening for probably approaching a month now. At first I thought the formatting could no longer be pasted in, but then I realized the perfectly formatted text was there, I just had to scroll half of the way down. It is so weird.

Same thing has been happening for me the last month or so too. Probably on Substack’s end, but worth tagging nostr:npub1l2vyh47mk2p0qlsku7hg0vn29faehy9hy34ygaclpn66ukqp3afqutajft.

Oh god. These editors are so complex; I did the work to have perfect compatibility with Substack’s editor just a few weeks ago!

Thanks for the tag, nostr:npub1dtf79g6grzc48jqlfrzc7389rx08kn7gm03hsy9qqrww8jgtwaqq64hgu0 ; I’m working on the Highlighter publication and editor experience right now, so this is extremely timely.

I will make sure to have good compatibility with lasting from it again 🫡

thanks Pablo -- FWIW, the process of copying from Substack to Highlighter had been so smooth, it maybe took 40 seconds. Now it takes maybe 60, but you have to be careful not to screw it up.
