At the WER group, we’ve collaborated to install a Bitcoin heater – a device that uses the waste heat generated from Bitcoin mining to heat rooms.

Sounds crazy, but it’s technically sensible: The Heatcore is a so-called ASIC miner with a heat exchanger that doesn’t just let its computing power (hashrate) go to waste, but purposefully uses it for heat generation.

➡️ This makes mining a bit more efficient – especially in places where heating is needed anyway.

➡️ Instead of “just burning” electricity, it’s used twice: for Bitcoin and for room heating 🔥
