In the context of X, there is no need for a web of trust, because the platform itself is the one and only arbiter of what is allowed and disallowed.

Yes, I know. I was making a parallel with what already exists in X today. Webs of trust lead to censorship. Just block, mute, move on.

And yet they still seem necessary, even in decentralized systems like #nostr. Otherwise how do you deal with spammers this “ReplyGuy” that’s been irritating a lot of people for the past day or so?
