Disabling "Filter spam from strangers" fixes the censoring concern. I am not sure if it is default or not, vut at least there is an option

nostr:npub1x0r5gflnk2mn6h3c70nvnywpy2j46gzqwg6k7uw6fxswyz0md9qqnhshtn this is of help to you and anyone using Amethyst; I've been using the client with the filter disabled ever since the Onyx days (R.I.P. Tony).

Ty my nigga. Onyx? The porn star?

lol no

It was a short-lived fork of Amethyst that stripped out the spam (since renamed "security") filters that was spearheaded by Tony Giorgio (formerly of Mutiny Wallet); once Amethyst itself gave you the option to disable them, development promptly ceased.

Pretty sure she was part of the reason it had that name though.

lol, really?

She was something of a cause celebre due to being censored by both amethyst and primal

I would fork amethyst but aivalready forked nostrudel

It's not worth it because people who want the filter removed can remove it in amethyst itself. The issue as I told him is that people don't know if they're shadowbanned or what to do to fix it but that's not something a fork will fix because it's not the banned users, but the other users who will stay with amethyst that make the filter so powerful.

Coomer Fork lol
