Just as lightning is a second layer to the blockchain, I could see a way that a new account type emerge that hovers over multiple #nostr npubs.

Potentially yes. The current use is very simple and robust, which has its benefits.
But maybe a nostr-clustr account could for instance solve the problem of keyrotation. Not on the base layer, but on a nostr2.0 layer.
That would be awesome!
