Out of my own curiousness, how did you end up finding out about Nostr and what made you stay? 💜

I found out about nostr during a business pitch in Chicago. Downloaded the app, saw that Bitcoin was the payment layer, jumped in head first and started learning and building. PV🤙

At a business pitch, wow, sounds amazing 💜 Glad to see word-of-mouth advertising also be as popular with Nostr 🫶

I was in good company:)

I can imagine 💜

I was beyond ready to leave Twitter, and had tried a bunch of alternatives that were incredibly underwhelming. Nostr was the first one where I felt actual energy from the people using it, and the developers are right alongside the users, responding and tweaking and building in real time. That’s unheard of anywhere else.

Seems like the case for many of the users on Twitter, but they’re still yet to find out about Nostr. Trying to figure out how we can accelerate the on-ramp to Nostr, and what has made people come and stay here 💜🫂

Thank you so much for answer 🫶🫂

Bitcoin podcasts is where I learned about nostr.

The positive community is what I stay for

Any certain ones that you personally know of mentioning Nostr? 💜

The cafe bitcoin podcast talks about it all the time

Oh, that’s really nice of them, good for awareness and publicity

Came for the free speech, stayed for the zaps!

Were you aware of Bitcoin or owning any Bitcoin before that, or did that happen after joining Nostr?

Heard about it on several Bitcoin podcasts, and decided to check it out. Damus made it way easier. Staying because of the simplicity of the protocol and the natural interoperability with the Bitcoin ecosystem. ⚡️💖💰

Any certain podcasts to point out, thank you for the answer 💜🫂

I think it was “What Bitcoin Did” 🤔 I could have sworn that it was also mentioned on one of the Monero pods I listen to as well … but I can’t come up with which

After being tired of the gate keeping and random suspensions from FB and Twitter AI with no explanations I figured there had to be alternatives brewing elsewhere. Started with mastodon then Nostr.

Sounds absolutely amazing, thank you so much for your answer 💜🫂

When #[2] tweeted the verification on the bird app , made me curious about and I never left 💜

I think it was a post from #[4] for me, which got me curious initially 💜🫂

🫂

Was looking for a place I could sign up without phone number or email address. I hate KYC. This place is amazing! I have learned so much since only being here a very short time. 🙏💜🫂

Absolutely, a lot of don’t like to be KYC’d and I’m glad that people can be a part of community here without doing that 💜

Saw Jack post about it on Twitter and the journey started from there.

Twitter lately I’m getting too frequently ‘something went wrong-but don’t fret, it’s not your fault.’ Grrr.

I was told I could stack sats for shitposting🫦
