I do remote work for a dock builder in Florida. I interact with people who have astronomical levels of wealth. The contrast between the people I live around and the clients I work for is sharp. I have lunch with friends who cannot afford to buy a home for their family while I speak with clients who are buying boats 2x-3x the value of my own home.

Never in my life have I had a foot in both ends of the US economy.
