Of course that raises the issue of whether you should provide something like that... but that's a whole other issue.

It should still be 9 characters but with the hyphen in the wrong space. Just ignore the hyphens. If it accepts it you should be fine. If not, that may be a shortcoming on the strike api side of things.

Alternatively it's relatively easy to get an ein assigned. Submit form SS-4 with the IRS.
