Blossom is one of the most intriguing projects at the moment. Huge ramifications on decentralizing internet media and hosting if successful. #Zappy21st nostr:note1jn27hm09k23hv9chtvm0v09hvp8paxmrz5tnxphz3frlktrjkf3sxhj2ul

Okay without a bunch of nerd talk in two sentences or less, what does it do?

Every file has a unique name (a hash). People can host it on multiple servers in the world (AWS, Cloud Flare, or home computer). When you need the file, the fastest one supplies it. Always guaranteed file hasn’t been altered because of the hash.

That was 4 sentences, dammit.

So like limewire for all files? But using Nostr?

Kinda, yeah. Except it can be the file storage for anything. Your website images could be served from it, podcast files, etc.

Rather than replacing the big cloud providers, it spreads your files across them as well as home servers.

Nostr is for text as Blossom is for files.

That is really cool I will have to play with it.

👍 Really early stage dev. Idea came out of Sovereign Engineering Cohort in Madeira earlier this year.
