🏆🏁🏎️Formula1 2023 #IntuitiveGame 2nd edition🏎️🏁🏆

Rules:

- Predict the final result of the F1 Sunday race from 1-10 place.

- Send me your prediction in DM and I will create an invoice for you to pay that it will be like your ticket. Only one prediction. 500 sats for ticket. Partecipation close 1 hr before the starting race. I will post your prediction after you pay the invoice.

- Every correct place prediction will give you points: 25,18,15,12,10,8,6,4,2,1. The one with more points takes it all.

At the end of the race I will manually calculate points and announce the winner! 🏎️🏁🏆

Bare with me if I will not be fast to do all of the post and replies.. I have to find out someone with a bot or something to do it ahahah (DM me if you know how for future times)

I’d thought about doing this, you could basically run a public book on nostr and have people zap their bets on notes with various bet outcomes. Too much time and effort to manage but very doable!

No you would t need to go that far.

Public zaps (not reliable enough for a full book today but enough for a bit of fun) would be enough - use one of the backup services to save all bets at lights out and then the bets are locked in.

Yeah you’re not doing smart contracts here.

The way I envisioned it was to grab bookmaker odds for some popular bets and post here as notes. For example a note of:

“Alonso to win - 2/1”

Anyone who wants that bet zaps whatever amount on that note and locks in a bet at the stated odds. All the notes are backed up / saved, winners calculated and paid out at the end of the race.

You could easily run an open book here with global Sats betting. You’d need to trust the bookie of course and there’s a chance of being rugged but I wasn’t thinking about replacing Betfair, just some fun and games on nostr and another usecase to prove out

It could definitely work!

I didn’t pursue it because it’s one of a million nostr ideas I’ve had and really the majority of this workflow (pull odds via API > publish notes > acknowledge zap bets > backup / save > pull winning bets via API and match against noteids > calculate payouts > make zap payouts) needs to be automated or you’re going to end up with a bunch of pissed off people 😂
