My understanding is Podverse supports podcasts that implement dynamic ads, so blame the podcaster(s). I've yet to hear an ad on Podverse, but all the shows I listen to are v4v.

Lol yes. This is shocked me when I first heard an ad on a podcast that wa local! I think it was on pocketcasts, I was like wtf!
Everyone blames the podcast app, and I thought this was the case too. But then as Laurien is saying it's the Podcaster! 🤯 and the ads get swapped out.
You are getting sold out by the content creators to whom you give your attention.
host read ads yes, I think anything else would be the hosting companies doing. With the show creator opting in that is. I think spotify does inject ads in as an app
There are 2 entries for DarkHorse in the index. One Buzzsprout and one Anchor. I check and the Anchor one has a DIA at the 1:52:00 mark.
The old why is this app putting ads in my podcast trick.
Are you saying one entry on the index has an add space and the other doesn't? Dark horse is the main one I was surprised at because they do paid sponsorships at the beginning of their show, so i didn't think they'd want to actually have the other type of adds in
This is how someone explained it to me.
“…actually if you look at Spotify they are videos that have been uploaded. I'd say it is an attempt to join Spotify's creator program on their part. They are the same videos they post to Rumble”
Looks like one of the feeds is on Spotify and that’s where the inserted ad is coming from.
OK sweet. I'll check and see If the other has an add
