Little tangent. Being self employed is not for everyone. I've had a taste of both. And you can save and invest very well being a skilled employee.
The stress and hours of business operations is not always the gravy train.
Being self-employed is definitely not for everyone (though I recommend it for many, if not most). People have different autonomy/responsibility tolerances. The world also needs skilled employees.
One of my latest gigs was an arborist. My talents exceeded my peers. My boss new this and paid me accordingly.
There was no way in hell I'm investing in 2 pickup trucks a bucket truck, chipper, chainsaws, a rental property with garage, climbing equipment and the list goes on.
I came out way further ahead as an employee than my boss did. Mind you I invested my money in myself where he continued to funnel it back into the business.
After 7 years of arboring my body said it had enough. And I walked away with no baggage. If I owned all that equipment... I'd probably have a really sore back and a yard full of used almost dead trucks and trailers.
As an added bonus. I can Now recalibrate and discover myself again 👌🤘
