Iβve spent more time online hiding the fact that Iβm a woman. When I use a masculine name/ avatar the tone of certain conversations changes. Iβm able to discuss ideas more freely and not have my thoughts dismissed so flippantly.

More: hey, you have good ideas!! and less: can I get nudes??? Here's unsolicited dick pics.
Iβve actually found using a pic of me as a kid really effective at stopping unsolicited dick pics.
Iβve frequently found that my ideas just arenβt heard in the same way when I post as a woman. Iβm condescended to. Treated dismissively. Someone with a masculine presence can say the same thing after me and get engagement. The tone of the conversation is just different.
I really appreciate when men online can engage in an authentic way about ideas and have a normal conversation like they would with another dude. Iβve found more of that here. Hence why I post as myself.

I will never tell. ππ
The real question is when you see a woman IRL, you also need to ask now:"are you a dude pretending to be one?"
