It’s a combo of it running quiet and best - since these Noctua ‘quiet’ fans generally max out at 3000rpm’s (compared to stock 6000rpm max), the 140mm version just does better in cooling/airflow vs. the 120mm version.

120 would work and you wouldn’t need an adapter. The 140 needs a printed adapter.

I think I want to go for the 140mm then, just need to find someone that can print it for me. Or maybe I should finally buy myself a 3d printer and print it myself...

Either way.. I’m a big fan of having a 3d printer on hand but… if you don’t want one let me know, I’d be happy to print one up for you. Not the quickest way to get one, but 🤷‍♂️
