interesting. the funny part is that #Japanese uses a #mora timing system and #English uses #syllables.

this parses out to "some things English speakers would call 2 syllables is one 'beat' in Japanese. it works out to 3-4 4-5 3-4 sorta kinda but modern haiku doesn't adhere to that in Japanese or English any more. in Japanese originally, haiku are all one vertical line. 😇🤣

Haiku is a surprise or a turning. Simple.
