Compliance is complicancy.
You only can give consent to something when you also can refuse to consent. If your "no" is not accepted by the counterparty without taking all your wealth and freedom it's NOT CONSENT.

Widespread compliance is what allowed this mass theft to get to where it is today, without general acceptance of such systems across history it would have been very hard to get to where it is today.
People consented because they were fooled into thinking it was their duty and felt it was legitimate.
