Nice. What does business source license mean?

Business Source License means that the Fedi is fully "source available" for anyone to review, check and verify the software.
And it also means that we have a clear commitment to becoming Open Source. (In our case, we will be Open Source no later than January 3, 2026)
Thanks for the info. That's a fair amount of time to wait. If I understand correctly the underlying protocol is open source, and Fedi . xyz is a proprietary system built on top? That might have been slightly confusing to those new to fed (like me!). For those of us in the free software community that like to make alternatives to proprietary software, what options do we have to build things, and/or interoperate with your solution, between now and 2026, or after?
