I like that you ask about this… do we agree that the free market is the path to economic growth ???
Discussion
People have a misconception of what a free market is. Corporations will argue the reason they import so much from other countries is because of free market and they go where labor is cheap and the economics works including shipping. The same if manufactured in US would raise prices and depress buying power. My issue is that it is always the rest of us picking up the difference. What about corporate greed and wealth consolidation? How about we break that down, put a cap and increase competition among themselves. 1920s is a history lesson here. A company like NVIDIA cannot be worth the entire annual tax revenue of the US.
Good luck trying to regulate it
Yeah that’s not going to happen when billionaires are running the show in Washington.
A free market is so much more than tariffs and labour arbitrage.
IDK about the US of A, but over here, government permits, approvals, regulations, fees and taxes vastly outweigh international differences in labour costs.
Lobbying to get the "right answers" from govt is the only business capability that scales endlessly with size.
Privileged access to the State is why mega-corporations can even survive at all.
Statism distorts the market, in short
