Is it like a beaver ?

I'll raise you a Superb Lyrebird I saw on my walk yesterday. First one I've seen in 3 years.

Imagine a tiny bear pig. They have a pouch for their babies like a kangaroo.

Nice seeing a wombat in the wild.

When I visited Australia for work (and took a few extra days for sight-seeing while I was there), I got to see a wallaby in the wild. It was pretty cool for an American. I also went to the Healesville (sp?) Sanctuary to look at all the unique Australian animals. It was lots of fun. I did make the mistake of walking through the flying fox exhibit at the end of day (dusk) when they were starting to wake up and move around which was a little disconcerting.

Yes, I find bats disconcerting.

Wow. I've never seen one of these before. TIL.
