So I’ve purchased inbound liquidity via nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm Hub for like 16k sats.

It was a private channel from a LSP.

The channel was forced closed due to high network fees.

I’m confused.

Sorry about that experience! Did you receive e-mail from us about this issue?

Yes I did.

The email was just stating that my channel have been closed due to high fees. Where I was confused is that I was expecting to keep my channel when I purchased it for 16k sats a couple of weeks before.

All my other channels from different nodes were not closed.

Seems like your LSP are special. Now I’m debating whether I should use your LSP again or just use my existing bare metal node.

We can only recommend some LSPs, and reasons for channel closures might be many... that's the state of the Lightning Network today - but it's getting better!

Sorry about your experience!

I understand, I however didn’t have a say in the LSP. It’s just a button “increase incoming liquidity” that I pressed. The LSP selection is not shared with the user at purchase.

Maybe you guys can chose a LSP that doesn’t close channels for your default LSP

Under "Advanced" when increasing incoming liquidity, you could choose your LSP or a custom peer.

We will try to improve in this regard, thank you for feedback!

Wait a second 5 Sat/VB is high fees?

How much was the incoming liquidity?

Did you get your sats back?

I believe there was a short spike last week. It triggered the channel to be closed by LSP.

The incoming liquidity was 1M but they charged 16k sats to open it and close it 2 weeks after.

I got whatever was on the channel back on-chain as per design. Just a piss off that I need to pay another 16k sats to open another channel.

No other channels that I own on my bare metal node were closed. It’s the only one I tried with nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm Hub that was closed.

That’s a ripoff, they should refund that 16k sats, nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm should do the right thing

Not sure it’s necessarily their fault. I was just confused that a LSP could close a paid channel a few weeks old. However I believe they should change their default LSP.

I don’t understand why a fee spike would force close a channel. If they didn’t tell you that’s a possibility when you sign up, they should refund your sats.

We are on the same page.

It’s an unfortunate event since I had just setup the hub and was exploring it. Seems like an awesome product. I am just reluctant on spending another 16k to use the node.

Ended up opening another inbound liquidity channel but this time in advanced settings I can choose another LSP.

I chose nostr:npub1xnf02f60r9v0e5kty33a404dm79zr7z2eepyrk5gsq3m7pwvsz2sazlpr5 Olympus.

Nothing beats running your own node. Hopefully this works out better

Good luck.

Couldn’t agree more.

However nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm Hub is potentially a compromise. I host it on my own server and do not have to deal with updates.

Right now my functional bare metal node needs Bitcoin Core, fulcrum, and thunderhub updates and I do not have the time to do it.

It will eventually need a SSD upgrade to 2 TB.

nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm Hub is light weight and within a docker compose container.

Was able to run the docker compose in Portainer within 45 seconds
