ws:// is not encrypted. wss:// is encrypted Think of it as http and https in this regard.

The Umbrel Nostr relay will only work with devcies on your home network/ WiFi. To access the relay while you're outside your home, you can use Tailscale. It's a private VPN. You would need to install this on your node and on your phone. Then launch the Tailscale app before your Nostr client. Then you'd be able to access it.

The chopper is god, and I am loud.

We have an explosion in the north sector.

Jason, Jason, where are you Jason?!

I added a NAT rules on my router for external access, is that a security issue?

(added also a dyn dns to avoid dynamic wan IP)

you're allowing anyone in the world to access your relay that's running on the same device as your bitcoin node. i personally would not do that. i don't do that now. that's up to you though.

Derek, I killed it, the think I love most in the world.

You killed a hooker, Amanda?

No a panda

It doesn’t matter anymore. I’ve moved on.

Who did you move on to? A different client?

My bitcoin full node run on another vm 😎

Thanks for the advice

cool. then you're essentially doing what im doing then. however, i limit who can write to my nostr relay by pubkey.

I have the tailscale on my android and umbrel. I must be missing something still. Im on my home wifi. I guess I have more tinkering to do. thanks for the insights.

you'll need to change your relay on amethyst to be ws://umbrel:port i forget the umbrel relay port. don't put in your umbrel IP address or umbrel.local. it needs to be the tailscale DNS name.

Im gonna make a video on this when I get it figured out. Im sure its some minor thing thats not clear to me yet.
