As an Economically literate employee, I never asked for a pay raise unless I know I'm adding an asymmetrical amount of value to the employer.

The other side of that coin is, Employers are not on the hook for increasing pay to Employees to counteract price inflation. It would be nice if they did account for price inflation, they're not Evil for not doing it.

Financial Literacy is something everybody needs to know, we all sell our Labor for Money. Its sad seeing Good people pay the price for Ignorant/Evil Money Manipulators doing their thing.
