GIFs should already be a done deal. Nostur for iOS has had them forever.
As for polls, I just found the loneliest GitHub issue ever, created by nostr:npub1zafcms4xya5ap9zr7xxr0jlrtrattwlesytn2s42030lzu0dwlzqpd26k5 two years ago.
