What is KYC?

KYC means know your customer/client. It's the process of identifying and verifying the client's identity.
Think of larger exchanges that ask you for ID, proof of residence and all the additional information when signing up.
Buying non-KYC is buying BTC without the above.
I am considering running a laptop or micro PC with Linux just as a wallet, paired with a hardware signing device and connecting it online only for spending, just to reduce exposure to malwares.
At the same time I wonder if a burner, app-stripped phone, ideally with an open source OS, wouldn't also do the job while taking less physical space. Spending would be then done with PSBT I suppose.
Running a node would be my next goal but that'd mean another device, since it should be connected all the time.
Can we just have it all in one device and with best security? 😂
I am in no way technical enough so I am still trying to figure out what would be the most fitting setup.

PSBT are the way to go! Albeit slightly more time consuming; the added security of air-gapped transactions greatly make up for it.
You don't need to go from 1-100 in one go, but step by step depending on your privacy and security requirements is the way forward.
Thanks, agree it's about step by step. So far I'm ok with a Ledger + Sparrow. Private emails and keepass.
Malicious attacks and inheritance are the concerns.
I'm not the biggest fan of Ledger due to their closed-source nature and the issues with Ledger Live but great choice with Sparrow 🤙
Yeah if I had knew before I think I'd have opted for seed signer!
