I’ve seen this a few times. We need to educate the newcomers that Nostr is not just Primal, there are a lot of clients and they can take their key and use it in any of them, or even use multiple clients at the same time.

Nostr noob here…do I just drop a Lightning address in my profile for zaps? Just learned I don’t have to use primal wallet (why do they require a the KYC garbage?!)… and how do I get access to quick memes?!

You don't need to drop your Lightning address to your profile. Just add your wallet to the Nostr client/app you're using, and that will make your lightning address show up on your profile and people will be able to Zap you.

And you don't need to use Primal wallet if you don't want. If it suits you, then go for it. Otherwise, you have other options, e.g. Coinos, Wallet of Satoshi, etc. You can add and use them on Primal, too.
