Anyone using a Galaxy Fold here? How is it holding up after time?

I've wanted the flip, but worried about it cracking, have the Pixel 6a right now.

I wondered if dust would get under the folding part of the screen.

Yeah, I've seen pictures of them with creases a lot.

No issues with cracking or dust. There is a crease and it's perceptible but you get used to it after a week or so and it doesn't bother me in the least. I don't really notice it is there most the time. Depending on what's on the screen, it's rarely noticeable visually, but you can feel the divot easily with your finger. But again, you get used to it and it's a nonfactor for me. I was worried about it as well when I first made the switch.

Cool, thanks

In fact, I dare say I kinda like the crease (it's more of a divot than a crease) when scrolling nostr or websites. It's like a tiny bit of tactileness sorta like the bumps on your keyboard so you cam find home row without looking. I kinda like resting my finger right in the pocket the crease makes haha. It's sorta become a feature not a bug to me lol

Haha, good to know. Thanks 🙏

I have a flip and I love it.

I had a flip4 amd it started doing weird buggy stuff after abt 6 months so I do not recommend the older one.

Flip5 fixed all those issues and has been rock solid. I got the phone om pre-order so I've had it since it came out since Idk summer last year ish.

The screen is softer than normal glass screens and somewhat prone to scratching but the phone closes so it's less of an issue. I find the inside screen attracts dust slightly more than normal glass screens but its a nonissue. It also doesn't feel quite as nice as a normal glass screen and the resolution is not as good as a flagship but no complains here. In general the phone itself feels like a normal phone with last Gen specs but a current Gen price tag plus folding feature.

The form factor is amazing and not just a gimmic. First off, I love that it doesn't bilge out of my pocket and is easy to carrry around. I've used the folding function nearly daily for a better way to prop up the phone etc. Dual screens when taking photos is awesome and it's great for group shots as it can stand up on its own. Taking photos of things in weird angles is easy because you can hold the phone half open. The outside screen is perfect for checking notifications, opening 2fa apps, and whatever else without having to fully open my phone and get lost/distracted by everything else.

Also slapping the thing closed when im frustrated or getting off a call with some asshole has a satisfying sound. probably the best part.
