When you travel or go on vacation go into foreign banks and open a free bank account. if you do that a couple of times you should have enough alternate accounts in enough foreign countries to not having to worry about your local bank telling you what you can or cannot do with your money.
And no, you don't need proof of residence in many countries.

I'd assume that you have one if your travelling. If not but you made it somehow to Bangok, you can get any passport you want.
