I dont understand the reluctance to upgrade things.

Ive been at this radio station migrating emails. The first issue was DNS kinda my fault I forgot an A record. Oops.

But now ive spent over an hour now trying to get a win7 box with outlook 2010 to fucking send emails. All the other boxes in the station are win10/11 with outlook 2020 they can all send and recive.....

God I fucking HATE microsoft.

Wait until updating dependencies breaks your project for two weeks straight. You will think very hard about each and every update after that.

I get the part about hating Microsoft tho. Had to go back to Lossdows bc of work a couple years back and I still suffer from PTSD.

i've definitely had it happen with some software so i can understand that.

i guess my frustration was coming from trying to support old outdated software that microsoft itself has stopped supporting. I had to keep xp machines alive during my last sysadmin job. I get not updating critical software there are a lot of solid applacations that dont work on win10+. but if it's just a box that you use for office work....i dunno just fucking update? I had to lower the minimum allowed ssl version so he could connect..
