Recent finished “Columbus and the quest for Jerusalem”.

Very interesting read that goes into so much that I didn’t know about Columbus, the man, and his voyages.

I’m not even mentioning what I “learned” in school which at best just glosses over it as just happening without real incident and at worst the broad brush “literal genocide” version from supposedly highly educated.

The stories and accounts preceding and surrounding the 4 voyages are fascinating.

Oh and the whole “quest for Jerusalem” piece is another rabbit hole to go down that probably shapes politics and sentiment today.

Every aspect was complicated and no amount of “woke” presentism will make that go away.

Recommend adding it to your reading list.

Sounds interesting. Wish there was an audio version. Best way I can consume info.

Damn, there really isn’t.

You know while I was reading this I just assumed there was an audio version and thought that it would be a great audio book.

I was still able to enjoy it though my reading had to be staggered between 2 year old duties. Sometimes 10-15 minutes at a time.
