Unless something has changed you should be able to do it with Calibre.

Thats the trick. You cant. They are not even epub, they are .mobi. Next time get any reader but Kindle
I’ve imported epubs to kindle so idk. But the main problem is that I can’t find some ebooks outside of Amazon.
You can download them almost 100% sure. If you feel like cheating on the author, try find them and donate. If its already dead, I promise they wont mind you downloading their work.
