I was pondering "How decentralized is Nostr right now?", so I gathered data from all online nodes.

As of now, there are 629 active public relay nodes distributed across 34 countries/regions.

The top 3 ASP by connected clients are Cloudflare, HETZNER-AS, NL-811-40021, DIGITALOCEAN and AS-CHOOPA, handling 52% of total traffic.

The top 5 countries are US, DE, FR, SG and CA, handling 88.1% of total traffic.

While the node distribution appears broad, the traffic concentration raises questions about practical decentralization. There's still work to do, but Nostr's decentralized design shows promise a lot compared to centralized social media platforms.
