Grid view is better imo cuz you get the carousel when you click on the pics.

the goal of damus over time is to minimize the need to click into things.
So doesn’t that make the grid view better?
No because to view the image you have to click into it. With carousel you just swipe. Once we fix the cropping issue you won’t need to click into it in the common case.
The carousel makes it too easy to miss something, it’s more like Instagram, which is not a great presentation.

Not keen on the jump between portrait and landscape. Yes, this is one of my main issues with the nostr:npub18m76awca3y37hkvuneavuw6pjj4525fw90necxmadrvjg0sdy6qsngq955 gallery. It can’t really handle images with varying height in the same carousel.
Incidentally, nostr:npub12vkcxr0luzwp8e673v29eqjhrr7p9vqq8asav85swaepclllj09sylpugg has solved this by cropping them in note view and only showing the full image when expanded.

Yes it was broken at one point. It worked fine before. I’m not the active maintainer of iOS anymore, I’m not sure when it was changed. i brought this regression up with nostr:npub13v47pg9dxjq96an8jfev9znhm0k7ntwtlh9y335paj9kyjsjpznqzzl3l8 , hopefully it can be fixed soon (we’ve definitely talked about it)
I think if that gets fixed and we maybe have smaller thumbnail images before posting so the user can see when there is more than one uploaded it would be a major improvement.
