Most things by Terrence Malick are great, I love Tree of Life but it's not everyone's cup of tea. Badlands, A Hidden Life, and Days of Heaven are good too. Tarkovsky is interesting, haven't seen much of his though, only Solaris. Ghost and the Darkness also might qualify.

I don't know if any of those are really "faith centered" other than A Hidden Life, but they all have very strong, very human themes. Modern Christians are unfortunately awful at art in most cases.

The Tree of Life is actually on my list, thanks for the reminder; I’ll watch this weekend. I’ve been trying to find the film equivalent of Dostoevsky, in regards to themes of existence, humanity, and God. Easier to find in literature than entertainment.

Doestoevsky is the gold standard! Tarkovsky might be close, although maybe a little too esoteric. But 1970's, Russian, maybe something there.
