I'm 50 in a few weeks. I watched this film when i was ten. I still remember it well, and even have a copy on dvd. I live less than 50 miles from the city its based in, one of the mushroom clouds shown is actually a nuke exploding over my home town.

I grew up during the tail end of the cold war, probably the worst part outside of the cuban missile crisis. I know a lot of people here fear WW 3 and it going nuclear.

My message of hope for you all today is to say it won't.

I know the world seems dark right now, but this night, like all nights, shall end.

Go out, build a sovereign ilfe to pass on to your children.

And let them embrace the Dawn.
