GM - Dark roast coffee is a shitcoin.

It destroys all of the beans’ flavor and replaces it with a uniform charcoal taste.

It was popularized by big high volume coffee companies to create uniform taste in every coffee they brewed.

But the beans’ flavor should be embraced. Every coffee has a complex mix of delicate flavors. Coffee actually has far more tasting notes than wine (3-4x).

If you wouldn’t order a super well done steak, consider the medium or light roast next time*.

*The one caveat is if you put milk/cream in your coffee. In that case, you may like dark roast better. When milk is added to lighter roasts, much of the tasting notes don’t come through and it can taste very acidic. But then again, if you aren’t drinking dark roast, you likely don’t need the milk.
