I get so tired of this straw-man argument. We are not repairing cars (where the only unknown is diagnosis time, and that's usually not a problem). We are not renovating homes (where the cost of both materials and labor is well-defined and easily estimable and where we have detailed plans). We are doing something more like basic research. So please give me an estimate of when you'll have that warp drive working. Welcome to the world of software development.
