Reading through all the feel good end of year posts and I thought I'd like to share something I told my team at Rightshift a few days ago.

To those who had just came in to the Bitcoin / Nostr community in 2023, what you've experienced was the easy mode, the best time to get to know the 'community'

The bears are a great filter that screen out most of the grifters, scammers, fake gurus, affinity scammers, leaving just the real deal.

If 2024 sees Bitcoin price moving toward a new high then we'll see all of those people come back, they will call us toxic as they try to peddle their shit tokens to clueless newcomers attracted to all the pretty lights.

The bull is when we see a bunch of malinvestments and phony projects funded to the moon, while real, important projects get left in the dust.

The bull is when we see innovations in the base protocol slows down as attention shifts to the most shiny thing.

2023 was a beautiful year. Get ready and be prepared, 2024 is bound to be wildly different.
